HOLY MOLY!! I'm blown away by Without You by Marley Valentine. This book was emotional and overwhelming in a good way. I am floored and still trying to pick up the pieces of my heart. But the end...perfect.

Deacon and Julian are perfectly imperfect, but there is even more to this than that. They are both suffering, and in their blackness, they find each other. These characters will win your hearts, and you will keep turning the page to see what happens next. I do warn you to have a blanket, a cup of tea (or something stronger), and a box of tissues with you when you read this book. I absolutely loved it, the characters, and the plot. And you will too! 5 stars and I recommend you one-click this one today!

This was a messy, dramatic storyline, which I'm apparently very into right now.

... but this book committed a cardinal sin: it set up a mean mother ripe for a takedown, even gave us a dead relative whose wish it was for someone to stand up to her, and it just... ended. With absolutely no resolution or standing-up-to scene. WHY?!

Very sweet. Can’t go wrong with Teddy Hamilton narrating. Decent spice.

I already knew from the tik tok reviews I saw that this was going to be a 5 star banger. Tik tok prepared me for everything including the hysterical sobbing but the way I sobbed in the beginning is nothing compared to the way I sobbed at the end.
I’m usually not a fan of taboo romance (Anything dating your ex-boyfriends brother, sister or dad) is a no for me. And this book follows the love story between deacon and Julian, deacon is the older brother to the character they are grieving(Rhett) while Julian was Rhett’s boyfriend. This development alone made me put off reading this cause I was not impressed…
But in this I’ll take the trope 10 times over. It was done so well I personally believe this book isn’t appreciated enough.
I would say what I didn’t like though, was how towards the ending the author tried to diminish what Rhett and Julian had just to amplify what him and deacon have. That could have been avoided! But don’t worry babe you still ATE this shit and I would still 1000% recommend

Deacon and Julian

These two broken men had a long and difficult road to find their happily ever after. They had a lot to overcome including difficult pasts, inconsiderate family and living ten hours away from each other. But through it all, they found the love both deserved and family who accepted them as they were. This was a beautiful story about healing and finding love in your darkest hour.
