I read this book as part of a novel study with my 5th grade students. I thought it was pretty great! Very funny, but also very real in terms of some of the complicated issues that children deal with.

Read with a student. It was a good book that discussed the emotions of the loved ones that suffer from depression in a entertaining way. Also the cool take on the scientific method was my favorite.

כשאני מסדרת ספרים בספרייה, לפעמים אני קוראת קצת, כמה עמודים פה ושם, רק כדי להכיר את הספרים. ההתחלה של הספר הזה תפסה אותי ולא שחררה עד ששאלתי את הספר וסיימתי אותו תוך יום.
נטליה לא מסתדרת בשיעור מדעים, אמא שלי היא המדענית ובדרך כלל היא הייתה עוזרת לנטליה וגורמת לשיעורים להיראות כיפים, אבל אמא סובלת מדיכאון ובחודשים האחרונים בקושי יוצאת מהמיטה.
סיפור כל כך יפה על משפחה וחברות והתמודדות עם משהו ממש קשה. אחד הספרים הכי יפים שקראתי בזמן האחרון

Çok beğendiğim bir kitap oldu okuduğum en iyi middle grate kitaplarındandı. Annesi depresyonda olan küçük bir kızın hayatını anlatıyor. Fen hocasının dersine yardımdı olacağını düşünerek onu yumurta yarışmasına yönlendirmesiyle kitap ilerliyor. Arkadaşlık, bilim, deney, umut, aile hakkında harika bir romandı. İçerisinde ufak ufak deneyler vardı ve bilimsel metodu öğretme konusunda çok iyiydi. Fazlasıyla öğretici bir kitaptı ayrıca oldukça duygusaldı. Bir çocuğun gözünden annesinin depresyonunu gözlemlemesini okumak çok duygulandırıcıydı. Psikolojik rahatsızlıkların insana bağlı olmadığını, herkesin çöküşler yaşayabileceğini çok düşünceli bir gözle anlatmış. Bunun üzerine çeşitli kültürlerden ailelere yer vermesini beğendim. Kitabın birçok güzel kısmı vardı ancak beni en çok duygulandıran kısımlar natalienin ailesiyle geçirdiği zamanları okumak oldu. 2. şanslar ve vazgeçmemek üzerine yazılan bir kitap olmuş. Middle grade yani ortaokul seviyesinde yer alan bir kitap ve bu kitabı okuyacak olan herkesin bir şeyler öğrenebileceğini düşünüyorum. Son olarak bilimsel araştırmalara ve deneylere karşı merak uyandıran bir kitaptı. Mutlaka tavsiye edeceğim bir kitap oldu.
