Introductory book to the series, would usually give a 3 but upgraded to a 4 because I'm interested to see where this series goes. Nice worldbuilding, escapist, what I hope the world would come to be.

This book felt like a cup of tea for my soul. Like it was speaking directly to the part of me that wants to quit society because working to exist is so hard. It made me cry with a sense of both longing and peace. This is a book that will sit with me forever and I will return to it every time I feel overwhelmed or burnt out or just need a break.

Half-way through this book, I had things to say. I had written a superfluous review in my head, praising the world and the writing and the characters and the simplicity of it that isn't really simplistic at all. But now it's done, and I am just left with feelings.

Just read this book, okay?

Is this my favorite Becky Chambers because it's objectively true or because it's my most recent read??

I don't think I've ever read a sci-fi that focused on nature this much. A beautiful blend of nature and technology in a lush and beautiful world, with interesting characters and a comforting vibe. I would like to read more about Dex and Mosscap.
