Well researched biography presented in a factual, though a bit dry, manner. Lays foundation with family history then takes focus on JFK himself.

The silver spoon thing, treatment of women as playthings, political ambition. Charismatic, well spoken, cognizant of the need to balance perspectives, superb strategist. A bit too sensitive to the politics around important issues of the time; Joe McCarthy, Civil Rights etc.

Book left me with a better understanding of how Kennedy got to where he got and why he was so loved. That said, I can’t say I now consider him as great a man, perhaps just a great politician, and certainly a better man than the alternative presented to the voters at that time.

The audiobook didn't really lend itself to narration, more to straight reading, which Deakins did well.
