Contains some of the most gut-wrenchingly romantic prose I've ever read, and quite inspiring to me as a writer whose bread and butter is (excessive) theatrical romance and insufferable tragedy.

“Silence separates us from ourselves, makes us sail the firmament of spirit, and brings us closer to Heaven; it makes us feel that bodies are no more than prisons and that this world is only a place of exile”

This was poignant and relevant and beautiful and amazing.

I saw the show based on this story at the Charing Cross theatre this week and it played in my mind as I finished reading. Both are wonderful and beautiful and haunting.
