A classic of course, and reading a translation in prose makes it easier to read but still a challenge. Felt like you needed to have received the same education as Dante and know who all the characters are he meets along the way to fully appreciate it.

I think I'm not going to finish it. Before I even started, someone told me that it's best read as poetry, not narrative. That's probably true. I insisted on reading it as narrative though, found myself skimming over large sections, and just failed to care. Not for me.
