I like the vocabulary and attention to detail, I think the environment and atmosphere was described very well albeit the same attention to detail describing the deserved fates of some people were rather gory and hard to stomach more so when described for what were sometimes almost half a page. Though, I do find a certain level of satisfaction knowing that bad people have horrible gruesome ends. I did think the storyline was stretched out a bit too long, like a wild goose chase before reaching a somewhat satisfying semi-conclusion, implying the intention to carry on in another book. I also found myself going from anticipation to impatience when certain high-tension or fight scenes were described. I do appreciate the topic at hand and social commentary towards politically charged crime gangs and internal politics of law enforcement that more often than not, meddles with the operations instead of giving way for effective procedure
