I really liked the beginning of the book. The connection and chemistry between Jan and Gus grew more and more, and you could really feel it throughout the book. But what I really dislike about the book is the ending. The last few pages were just a series of bombshells, like the ex-wife suddenly showing up and her father's “other woman” suddenly appearing at her door and spilling everything. The scene in the rain clearly needed to be different. Jan had to make Gus feel bad about what he had done and after everything he had said, because if a man told me he was thinking about going back to his ex, I would be devastated and I would really leave him standing there in the rain. It was simply too rushed and not well written. It could have been much better.

I find that this book was extremely overhyped, it didn't meet the expectations I had of it being a great romcom. I couldn't engage with the characters or the plot. Everything about this book was bland to me, couldn't get pass 60 pages without cringing.
