This is one of my favorite authors, so I knew I’d enjoy this book. I will say I found the plot dragging here and there, and a lot of it was predictable for me. But overall I enjoyed Addie’s life and reflecting on just what it means to live.

I was sure this book would be a 5-star one, but I’m not sure how I feel about the ending.
And I cannot stand Luc, and his relationship with Addie, so that doesn’t help.
But it’s a beautiful book and I was hooked for most of it.

Addie’s story is sad, yet adventurous. Henry’s is heartbreaking 🥺

Some aspects were a little predictable, but this was a great read especially if you enjoy pondering the philosophy of human life through fantasy novels. 😅

I really enjoyed this book! It is such a unique and interesting concept. My only criticisms were that I would have liked to see Addie react to historical events happening like womens suffrage, the wars etc (some of these things are mentioned but we don't really get to see her thoughts about them). I would have also liked there to be more of a focus on the friendship and family that Addie is missing out on - it is very heavily focused on romance and she just seems to spent all her time having one night stands but doesn't make any effort to connect with people platonically. But other than that I loved it and it was very gripping!
