I am a Disney girl through and through and when I heard DARK retelling, I immediately jumped to read it. James was *insert chef's kiss here*. I loved how dark he was, his character development and I truly wish I had my own.

Wendy... Girl, there's so many things that I wanted to scream at you but as a young girl turned adult, I had to take a step back and remember that we were all that dumb once too.. LOL.

The twists and turns in this book kept me on my toes! After I got like 45% in and then it tipped over the edge and I couldn't put it down! Thank goodness for Emily and writing an Epilogue because I love knowing the stories after the end and the end was truly very satisfying. Besides that, I feel like the last 10% of the book was rushed.. I wish it was a little bit longer.. But, I guess I shouldn't complain LOL.

If he doesn't cut off someones tongue because they called me the C word, I don't want it.

Tropes:
- Morally Grey MMC
- Dark Retelling
- Bad Boy x Innocent Girl
- Betrayal

Favorite Quotes:
"James says that sometimes true love require sacrifice. Well, I'll sacrifice my soul a thousand times over in order to stay with his." - Wendy Michaels
"The greatest thing I've ever done in my life was to love you, Wendy, darling." - James "Hook" Barrie

This was my first dark romance book and I did expect it to be a lot darker than it actually was. Despite this, I still really enjoyed it. As a Once Upon A Time lover, I'm a sucker for Captain Hook so of course I loved this book.

I won’t lie…It wasn’t my thing. It seemed a bit like the author wrote a basic story for kids and just added spice. I saw nothing dark in this book. The spicy scenes were alright. The “pet” nickname was not my thing and I didn’t expect it. It could be better…Definitely another overhyped book on tiktok…

ZERO STARS! Absolutely disgusting. I’ve never hated a book more.

Maybe physically reading it will be different but listening to his torture was too much for me.

In this spicy dark romance, James “Hook” Barrie is a drug kingpin with a grudge against Peter Michaels. He know the best way to get revenge is through those you love, that was his plan when he met Wendy Michaels, but she was so much more than he expected!

This book was hot and so well written. There were little sprinkles of Peter Pan all throughout from James’ boat, Tigerlily, his bar, the Jolly Roger and many character names. There were twists and turns that literally left my jaw on the floor! I’m adding the entire series to my TBR! This book deserves all of the stars!!!

this book was so beautifully written. I know I should of hated that Wendy stayed with Hook after everything he’s done. But apart of me was yelling stay! I could not put this book down. I read it in a full day. Definitely an amazing story.

Not what I expected..

I went into this cold, not what I expected at all in a good way. Very spicy, love the ending, can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
