DNF at 18%. There was no flow. At all. I felt like there were pages or chapters missing. There was very little character development which made every person just seem half-baked. The way the “hero” treated the main character was borderline abusive. Consent was questionable. I chose this book based on a bookstagramer’s recommendation for “laugh at loud” funny books. But the joke was on me, I guess, as there was nothing funny within the book whatsoever.

bad writing, lack of character development, specifically when it comes to the major character flaws of the male main character. The female also seems to just have no self preservation whatsoever. The sex scenes were also odd and a bit cringeworthy? Had the potential to be a much better read, just poorly done.

DNF, but more like COULD NOT FINISH! So so toxic. I couldn't find anything about this sexy. I forced myself through about 75% of the book before I came to my senses. I do not care about their happily ever after because he is terrible and she is so d- whipped that his crumbs are like a feast to her. The argument about Joel before the coffee shop did me in for good. My TBR list is too long to be forcing myself through this! I generally try not to be this scathing, but this is not love conquering all or "healing" a man with love (which is another rant for another time). This is accepting absolutely horrendous treatment and hoping to earn trust and love in return because he makes your body sing. Gross. No. Run.
Also this book was like 100 pages too long for the content.

It was just the same thing over and over and over again which lead to me wanting to hit my head on the nearest hard surface.
