I didn't mind this, but I didn't really like it either... ? Henley was not redeemable to me in the end. I get he had some "catastrophic event" at 15, but lordy. This was a hodgepodge of series building side characters, and a lot of me questioning why tf Juliet stuck around for the emotional abuse.

I love a bully romance, when I know it's a bully romance. Was this a bully book? Lol.
There were some definite funny moments, especially with Barry. I was truly hoping that the MMC would grovel and redeem himself for all the bs he put Juliet through. I felt like this was a missed opportunity for character redemption. And also, the ending was oddly short and underwhelming.
Bummer. I usually like this writers work.

2.75⭐️- the fmc spent the majority of the book living in a different reality than the mmc. Obviously I liked them together but she shouldn’t have to beg someone to love her and I get that he’s got fucked up baggage but let’s be real…less than 2 months in therapy is NOT going to fix what he has going on.

The MMC was terrible and treated the FMC like trash yet she still went after him. I feel like there were sooo many times I wanted to smack the FMC for being so stupid and putting up with Henley’s shit. He had a few redeeming qualities but the whole book is basically about Juliet convincing Henley to be in a relationship.
Like girl get it together, stop being so needy and stand up for yourself. He was controlling and manipulated her the whole time. That is NOT a good relationship.
My other gripe is more with the author and her writing. After reading a few of her books, every spicy scene in all her books is like basically the same. She uses the same annoying phrases that I can almost guess what they are going to be which really ruined it for me.
“Kissed me with just enough suction” “the sound of my wet sex sucking him in” “he pulls back and slides in hard, knocking the air from my lungs.” Like can you please get creative and describe it is ANY other way?!

Really enjoyed this, only took me a couple of days to finish because I just didn't want to put it down. I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the main characters, I loved getting to know some of the others as well. I think the only put of for me was that Juilet just felt like she was being selfish a lot of the times more than determined to get her man
He’s now mentioned her being “engaged” twice after they had their intimate time together. She hasn’t corrected him or told him that she wasn’t. At this point it has annoyed me
