okay, I must say the beginning of this book killed me, in the good way, of course.
It's just so sweet and beautiful!!!
This book shows you life, in a realistic way; with all its ups and downs, with the good moments and its hardships. It's really a thing of beauty.
Again, as all the AoGG books, it must be mandatory reading for all human beings.

It is nice that this book is back to the normal way of story telling, meaning not reading a bunch of letters. I was very happy to have Anne and Gilbert together again. Loved the new characters that were introduced in this book.

My annual foray into Anne of Green Gables continues. This one didn't hook me into well over half way.
The plot twist with Leslie and Dick, WHAT EVEN WAS THAT L.M. MONTGOMERY???
I tried to keep going but I think I'll leave this series and maybe someday I'll come back to it.
I did want more scenes to show the buil ing of the romance between Anne and Gilbert in the first four books. Kinda felt felt like I just got bits here and there.

This book feels a bit more serious than previous ones in the series - however, Montgomery weaves love, loss, tragedy, friendship, and serendipity together into a beautiful tale. Anne's imagination and big heart still create magic in the lives of those around her.
This book is the most special because we finally get to see Anne and Gilbert get married! It’s also very nostalgic as everyone reflects on Anne’s journey so far. I found myself stifling teary eyes as the book began. Anne’s House of Dreams follows Anne from ages 25 to 27 and through ups and downs as she and Gilbert settle down in their starter home at Four Winds Harbor.
My favorite parts:
- I’ll say this about every Anne book but the NATURE DESCRIPTIONS are on point
- An all-ages cast of characters
- “that’s just like a man!”
- Anne and Gilbert going through heartbreak but having their dream fulfilled anyway just at a later date
One thing that makes Anne’s story so charming is that on the surface it’s about the little things in life. Good company, good food, meaningful conversations and stories, beautiful nature…
But those things are actually the big things in life. Montgomery always emphasizes the importance of marriage and family life, making and maintaining friendships, opening up to trusted friends, helping others fulfill their dreams, and spending time in nature to realize your place in the universe.
