After a string of dark thrillers, I thought this would be a silly, lighthearted read about a divorcé in Hollywood. Well, Agnes (the divorcé) is really just a horrible person who was married to a man-child and has surface-level friendships with a lot of other not-great-characters. I didn’t feel connected to anyone.
I guess it’s funny, but has very little depth and a lot of vulgarity. Definitely not my thing.

Wow okay, where to start. This was all over the place. This should have been right up my alley because I love funny sarcastic books and people, but this wasn’t it. The humor was there though out the whole book, but I feel like it was way to much. Like Agnes didn’t know how to deal with what was happening and had to be sarcastic. I mean don’t get me wrong she was dealing with a lot of crazy shit but damn. She had her moments where she cracked me up and said some off the wall things so that made me happy.

Her husband was a total man child who was super wishy washy, threw tantrums, and very vindictive towards her. I feel like he should have gotten beat up or had a glass thrown at him because he just got away with so much and was on my nerves. I also thought I’d like her sister Fin, but sadly I didn’t.

I did like Pen the daughter and the house keepers they were super funny. They kept me reading till the end because I wanted to see more of them. Sadly though this is a 2 star read for me. I love the cover art, the title and really thought from the synopsis this would be for me, but I know we can’t like every book. I hope you love this book if you do decide to pick it up.

I received a free copy from Netgalley, the publisher, and the author in exchange for an honest review.

Arc provided by NetGalley. I had I high hopes. I have loved the last few arcs but this is
Horrible. I love the cover and the premise has potential but there is
No one to root for. Every character is horrible. And there are books
We’re you don’t need someone to root for but this one isn’t one of
Them. It’s really long and drawn and and
Annoying
With a capital A. This had the potential to be funny and be a book where you root for the wronged wife but I hated Agnes. Ugh

I was having a tough time reading the beginning of this book. I felt like the author was jumping all over the place. This is obviously an ARC, but I am not sure if the formatting changed that much from what I received. At first, I was hoping for a least a break in paragraphs. Then I discovered that she (Aggie) was like she was ADHD. Bouncing from one thing to the next. I decided to push forward because I was curious as to where this book was going to go. At about 40%, I realized the jumping had slowed down considerably. Thankfully.
That said, on to what I thought of the story.

What happens when Trevor says he wants a divorce. Honestly? He gets evil! I hope that Hollywood really isn't the way it is described in this book. The "important" people in Hollywood sound totally shallow and down right ridiculous. There has to be some "real" ones out there. You hope.

But it was enjoyable hearing about the craziness. The author has a way with descriptions. A good way. Sometimes, a bit over the top. But I think that is what makes the book.

Will Pep end up with mom or dad? Who will remain friends with whom? Will Fin stay out of jail? Will Aggie find love again?

This is a new to me author and it took me a minute to really get this authors way of writing. I was given an ARC for my honest review and here it is:

It's very fast paced and there were moments where I would have to reread certain paragraphs to really understand. I can't say this story was really the best for me but I am sure there will be some readers who will just love this story and writing. I encourage everyone to try it and make your opinion.

I did laugh a few times and I was able to finish the book. But wow it's definitely not going to be for everyone. But I will always urge people to try it out because not everyone reads the same book.

I only read 44 pages of this book. It jumps all over and is hard to follow. I NEVER just put a book down and stop reading it. This is a first. It had potential to be a humorous story but 4 or 5 chapters in and it’s all over the place.

On the one hand, I couldn't stop reading this. On the other hand, I kinda wanted to at times--it had a very dismissive attitude of some things that i've come to appreciate books taking seriously (#metoo especially, but not exclusively.). It wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't a great book. Highly highly readable, very fast read, it's probably a good beach read or for any time you want something light and (trying to be) silly.
