SO. I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read and the ENDING HAD ME HOOKED (per usual). Rebecca Yarros knows how to end a book I will say. The communication between Xanden and Violet in this book was so much better. Considering she spent 85% of the book being mad at Xanden for keeping secrets. Unfortunately, this book didn't progress the story along as I wanted. There was a lot of filler but not a lot of payoff. So that is a little frustrating. Love a good quest and this was it but I feel like we would have got to the same ending if we didn't have a 3rd of the book. That being said I really enjoyed myself and I NEED book 4. 4/5 Stars

This was good! Was it worth the hype? I’m not sure yet….I feel like there were lots of characters mentioned that were a bit superfluous and because I didn’t read the first two books to start, that might’ve just been me not remembering. I did enjoy the story and the ending is a cliffhanger. I like the cliffhanger but having read so much Romantasy, it felt kind of expected, please don’t come for me on that lol. There were some sections that felt like they could’ve been edited way better, I  agree with other reviewers that some sentences didn't make sense or there were bits of dialogue that felt repeated. I listened to this and the narrator who did the majority of the reading got to be a bit grating at times. I wish we’d heard more from the other narrators featured but it’s okay. I’ll continue the series and still can’t believe the hype the physical book drop launched but I’m glad to have read it and will likely read it again in the future!

For me this was easily the best book in the series so far, and I did love Fourth Wing, too!
I really enjoyed the character growth and
the extension of the world we knew so far.
I also feel like Rebecca did an incredible job of describing the war scenario - I had so many feelings reading this book, from rage to devastation to hope and all back again.
There were some moments that had me crying because it was so funny, and then some that had me crying because they were so devastatingly sad.
Also, the Cliffhanger at the end had my jaw on the floor and i already can't wait for book four!

Okay but seriously what the actual fuck? Did it seriously end like that? Not only but did everything I read just seriously happen? I had an absolute rollercoaster of emotions during this book. From beginning, middle to the end. Nonstop. I seriously cannot believe everything that just happened.

And fucking Andarna leaving like that? Cutting off the bond with Violet and then returning at the very end out of knowhere and we don't even get to find out what happened while she was gone or why she returned. Also fuck the Irids for acting like they did to Andarna and saying all that shit to them. How could they expect things to turn out differently if they weren't there to help make it so? They want things to be less violent well maybe if you helped take away the danger that can happen.

Also, who is the "brother" that Xaden is talking about. The only people I can think that it could be that have known the entire time that Xaden has been turning venin is Bodhi and Garrick. And I'm leaning more toward it being Bodhi because if something were to happen to Xaden Bodhi would be the next in line for Tyrrendor. Which would make sense why Xaden and Violet got married even though she doesn't remember that happening. The only other explanation I have for that is maybe the ceremony that happens for a marriage binds you together and they are using that as a way to make sure that Xaden doesn't turn any further venin and they can work on finding a cure. I just don't know how the missing dragon eggs fit into all of this. Especially without all the dragons going on a rampage.

I'm also trying to figure out what the significance is for Rhiannan and Imogen to have their own chapters. I kind of get Imogen having her own especially after the last chapter I just feel like there had to be a very good reason for it and I just missed it in my first reading.

I fucking hate Violet's second signet it's shit. I think that there were better options for it than what we got. I knew it was going to be something in the intrinsic family, but going into people's dreams isn't that helpful. Even with their explanation on why it happened I still think that there are better options.

Also with Aaric signet being precog what are the limitations? Can he see all routes of the future, does he have to have some sort of clue or does he only see the most likely option? Also does he know that his signet has manifested and if so how long has it been manifested for?

Also how are they going to explain that other rider manifesting as a shadow wielder? I thought that they said that their was only one per generation? With Xaden still being around it wouldn't make sense for there to be another shadow wielder. Are the others going to question that? Are the dragons going to tell that Xaden is venin? Or have they done a good enough job hiding that fact? Also does Xaden have two or three signets? Especially since we found out that those with relics for some reason manifest two. And we know those that bond a dragon that bonded someone in their family line either go crazy or have a second signet. So is he crazy, which I don't think he is, or does he have a third signet that se don't know about?

Also I feel that compass that Violet got on that one island is also going to come back and play a part in something. I think that its purpose is to point to something other than north, the question is what? Is it a person, place or object? Or does it have no purpose at all and RY is just fucking with us.

Also who all is missing other than Xaden? Why are dragon eggs missing? Who took them and is that part of the memories that Violet is missing as well as her apparent marriage? And are eggs only missing from Tyrrendor or from the vale as well? And if it wasn't Violet and Xaden who took the eggs then who did? And why?

Ugh I need all the answers and the next book like know. But noooooo we have to wait like 2 years for the next one.
