DNF at 33%.
It was fun for a while, but there's like no plot. Even when I thought something interesting was gonna happen, it just got resolved quickly and everything went on as usual. The magic was unique though.

A memorable tale of magic and the creation of many myths we know and love.

Disney’s animated Sword in the Stone has me spoiled. It’s funny and exciting and one of my favorites of my childhood. But Oh My Onomatopoeia…this book was boring by comparison! I’m sorry, but even the magical animal transformations lost my interest after a while. And the narrator kept interjecting “modern” explanations that only really make sense to people alive in the 30s and 40s. It takes you out of the flow of the story in an annoying way.
I’ve been wanting to read a King Arthur story for some time, and I’ve been on a mission to read more classics. I’m actually reading this as a 5-book compilation, but since it’s very slow going—and, honestly, I may not finish—I decided to mark the completion of book one.

Neville Jason's narration of this classic fantasy tale is an aural treat! I highly recommend cozying up with this audio version. [Super short opinion ^^]

Reliving teenage reads & enjoying it, perhaps not quite as much as first time around. Ingenious story, satire and great quality writing.

absolutely horrible for me, terrible to read and dull.
but better than my worst book ever so there is something worth ur time if u are capable of reading it. if writing is not dull for u i think u might enjoy it but otherwise stay away
