This was probably my favorite book of the year! I’m a Diane Chamberlain fan but I have never enjoyed on of her books like this! I did not want to put it down and if my life wasn’t so busy I would have finished this in a day. I have so many things to say I don’t know where to start:

1. I loved that the back of the book didn’t give a lot away. The back is a perfect synopsis without giving much about what happens away so you can’t anticipate it at all! Which was great I was always surprised and I didn’t even try to predict it. Plus if I had know certain things from reading the back I probably wouldn’t have read it. I’m being vague because I don’t want to give it away.

2. I loved the characters, which as you know is a big deal for me if I’m going to enjoy the book or not. I thought their development was great and you found yourself emotionally torn between what they go through because your rooting for them but at the same time care about the storyline and what needs to happen.

3. I was always emotionally invested in this book. It actually often gave me anxiety which I can’t explain why without giving away things so I won’t but I loved that I was so invested and worried for certain things.

4. I thought the story was different. At least much different than I have read and that was refreshing as I explained that I couldn’t predict what was going to happen. Which is part of what made me love it!

5. The ending was perfect! Often times the ending drags out or is rushed. This one was the perfect amount of wrapped up and not dragged out.

I HIGHLY recommend this book and probably everyone is getting a copy for Christmas!

I read this without reading anything about it, it was a pleasant surprise, time traveler’s wife-esque. It was a quick read with likable characters.
