had to return to library, i'd like to finish it eventually

Almost a 4 star read. Very Canadian, and very refreshing.

There was something to this book, but I didn’t like it.

It's well written, but I find it a little dry and difficult to get through. It's just not something I personally am enjoying.

gorgeous writing. there's a very precise quality to it. i don't think i appreciated it enough because i read this during a slump. i want to reread at some point and definitely read some of munro's other works. i think the 'novel' label is misleading in this case; i'd consider it a collection of short stories revolving around the same character. interesting historically as well because it was written at the very start of the 70s/80s white feminist movement.

wederom fantastisch.
