love it.

This is the slowest burn I have ever read, surprisingly I’m good with it. It fits the narrative, it fits the characters and I’m here for it.

Book 4 of the Veil Diaries was a bit shorter than the others in the series, mostly dealing with Lexie recovering from the previous book and, now that the Veil is healing, getting Sophie to cross.
This book dealt with a lot of problems that were very necessary to address. It is now April and Lexie is suffering from PTSD from the incidents that occurred four months earlier (this book jumps from January in Book 3 to April in this book). She makes progress and has some set backs, and also has to deal with some of the guys being angry and distant. On top of all of that she has angry ghosts demanding to be crossed over and some school faculty on her ass.
Although it was a bit shorter than the other books in the series, Whispers from the Dead deals with a lot of issues and by the end, many of them are resolved. Lexie is still healing but she's done hiding and is coming out stronger than ever. Her growing crushes on the guys might be helping too :)!
But now, after reading the first four books back to back within a few days, I'm stuck waiting who knows how long for book 5 (and the other 10 books that will supposedly be in the series)! PLEASE write fast B. L. Brunnemer because I NEED the next book in this series!!!!

This series is good and I fly through them but I just feel like it is so damn slow. At least no one was dating anyone else in this book. That was my major issue with the other books.
