this is my first sc wynne book so i wasn't sure what to expect. i really liked this book and the writing...it was in the first person POV and almost read like a journal at times with brett reflecting back on what happened with jeremy. i will say this feels like there could be more to the story so i wouldn't be surprised to see a follow up book.

i really liked most of the characters in the book...sam was by far my favorite and i was a bit sad that brett felt the need to hook up with jeremy at all. i get it...his need to feel loved and desired after not getting any since he was a kid and all i wanted to do was hug him, i just wanted him with sam the whole time. sam was unbelievably charming and adorable and bonus points for his being a ginger. i liked them together and hope they make it long term.

i thought jeremy was a good 'bad' guy...pretty complex and convincing as a wacko. he was a bit forthcoming with information in the end which was a little unbelievable.

i liked the subplot of brett and his dad's relationship and where it was headed. seems like there is a bit more work to do between them.

overall i thought it was a good, quick read that stands alone if that's how it ends.
