Great exploration of the counterfeit merchandise industry and racism + stereotypes.

I like the idea, narrative, and twist but disappointed Ava and Winnie never learned their lesson (which I know is kind of the point/part of their flawed characters).

This book reminds me of Lucky (Marissa Stapley) and Finlay Donovan is Killing It (Elle Cosimano), in terms of criminals/scammers but Chinese and with bags instead of murder. TBH, Finlay got a lot more hype but I thought was more boring and than Winnie and Ava.

A fun, quick, and entertaining read about fake pocketbooks, friendship, and entrepreneurship. Just what I needed to start the year off. It reminded me loosely of Canal St. in NY and the “good” fakes. The back end of production never occurred to me and I was fascinated imagining all that went into having the latest fashions available instantly. I wouldn’t read it again, but I would recommend it to others.

3.5 stars. Really enjoyed the unreliable narrator The beginning was shit but it got better as it went along. Ending was mid.
