Wow. This book felt very magical, the way it explained the bond and the infinite moment was beautiful. Kelwyn was so kind in this book, I really felt for them but the ending was beautiful.

While I didn't fall in love with Emberclaw as much as I did Dragonfall, it is a solid sequel. Could have done with being extended into a trilogy, as the ending felt rushed and fairly flimsy but was satisfying enough.

This one picks up right after Dragonfall ends and continues this most unique dragon riding romantasy. Truly, this duology is so different from other dragon books.
Queer normative (mostly) world, they/them pronouns as the norm, and gender equality make this world feel so warm and comfortable. Yes, there is still corruption, yes there is still disease, yes, there is still classism and myriad other political problems. That makes for a well rounded fantasy story. The bond between our 2 MMCs was beautiful, the newly formed alliance against the big bad guy. I loved this conclusion to this duology; everything wrapped up well without feeling rushed or too easy. Highly recommend for fantasy and dragon lovers!

  • Pulled me into the world building and the story
  • Minus points for getting slow at certain parts
  • Excellently written to the point where I didn't have to reread book 1 and understood the importance of everything
  • Powerful character connections and motivations
  • Complicated ending and final fight scene, espically with all the components but I found the world engaging and worth the time put into understanding
