This was a very odd book, but I liked it. Honestly, I feel like it would have been 1000x better as a short story. Some parts were a little slow, but I enjoyed it more once it picked up.

If you enjoy stories in which layers are slowly peeled away, revealing hidden motives over time, give this a try. Lots of folks have compared it to [b:Gone Girl|19288043|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1397056917s/19288043.jpg|13306276], and both do have unlikeable but compelling characters who have gotten comfortable with rationalizing pretty extreme behavior. Didn't love it, didn't hate it.

This book was kind of creepy in that none of the characters had any morals! It was an interesting read, but hard to identify with any of them.
