2.5 Stars. This was a bit too wordy. Not bad, but not as good as others I've read by Martin. There are some great descriptions of 1916 Boston, but there is also some mediocre writing and plot development.

I've had this book for several years and have tried to read it a few times now. I always stopped...not because I didn't like the book, but because I just lost interest in reading all together at those times. I'm glad I decided to pick it up again. It was a great and very interesting read. If you're interested in learning anything about the Easter Rising, or at least the lead up (even in the fictional world), I say give this one a go.
