The sixth book in the MacKenzie Quartet works on all levels. It's a sexy action roguery with the sizzling DEA agent, Cade, against a drug-pimping cartel. When the audacious, curvaceous neighbor, Bayleigh, stumbles on-scene, the stakes inflame.

While these characters succumb to the usual crisis of emotional insecurity, they are refreshingly honest with themselves and each other. Bayleigh's directness and determination is exactly what you want in a female lead and don't often get.

The only rub--and it's a minor one--is similarities between Cade and Cooper (the cousin from book four). They're the same character.

If you're looking for a light quick read with guns, action, and steamy sex, this is it.

I'v been complaining since first Mackenzie brother book that they were too short so I was thrilled to find out Cade was a novel and I loved it. Cade deep dark and sexy and after coming face to face with outspoken Bayleigh he a gonna but he won't admit to anything. Like how we got to meet Bayleigh brothers and how their connected to Mackenzie family members. Great HEA.

Not bad, though it powered too quickly toward a conclusion.

Hot Guy on cover

So at some point I started this book and then abandoned it halfway through. I did not remember that until I picked it back up today. Clearly there was a reason why I abandoned it.

It is your typical romance novel, which don't get me wrong I love romance, but this just was...I couldn't get into it. I tried again, even though I forgot I started it, and even though I finished it it was a struggle. I skimmed over all the sexy parts because I just wasn't feeling them, but it seems like most of this book was made up of sexy parts. Plus the whole using-a-drug-that-causes-arousal scenario I've already read. It was done by Lora Leigh and I'll admit I did prefer those storylines to this.

like liliana harts other books but should have known with a naked chest on the front cover (a sure giveaway of a book I won't like)...

This is not Romantic Suspense. There was no romance. Not character development of any substantial kind. Everything is shallow and kind of smutty. To me it felt like BDSM sex with a partner who really wasn't willing. She even says "NO" and his reply, "You know you want it." This book hit a lot of danger zones. This is pure erotica/porn. The plot also hinges on an insatiable date rape drug that was rather over the top and just a device to get MORE sex in the book. This book could have been so much more than it turned out to be. The characters are just paper dolls for poor erotica.

To each their own, but all of the 4 and 5 star reviews are misleading at best. This book really SHOULD come with a warning. Bottomline: This isn't a romantic love story so if you are looking for one, don't waste your time on this one.
