The Devlins are a family of well reputed attorneys, except for TJ, who is a recovering alcoholic and has done time in jail. But on the night of his father's birthday, when his older brother John confesses that he just might have murdered one of the clients, TJ seizes the opportunity to help his brother. Will TJ redeem himself and prove his brother innocent or will his investigation tear the family apart ?

The Truth about the Devlins by Lisa Scottoline is a well written domestic/legal thriller . With skillfully drawn characters and a tightly woven plot filled with twists and turns that left me hooked to the end.

I would like to thank PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam's Sons & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

As a fellow black sheep of the family (I wear it as a badge of honor now), I had to read this oneand it did not disappoint! Lisa Scottoline delivers a legal thriller packed with family drama, murder, and enough secrets to keep you flipping pages late into the night.

TJ Devlin is the outcast in his successful, lawyer-filled family. He’s trying to rebuild his life after past mistakes, but when he stumbles onto a murder tied to his family’s law firm, things take a wild turn. The deeper he digs, the messier things get because in this family, the truth is a dangerous thing.

This book is so much fun. It’sfast-paced, full of juicy family tension, and had me hooked from the start. But I have to say the ending? A little underwhelming for me. I wanted more of a punch. Still, it’s a solid, entertaining read that’s perfect if you love legal thrillers with complex family dynamics.

Boring.

I enjoyed this story about family, right and wrong, and second chances. TJ was a great character and I was rooting for him even as things kept going wrong - and I loved the cat.

The ending felt really rushed. I wished it would have gone more into each character’s growth a little more in depth.
