I loved this raw, vulnerable, honest book. How change is written. How it is shown to be more complex than it is. It's choosen and not, violent and euphoric, an uprooting and a liberation. The narrator's questions about the legitimacy of change, especially about the lost friendships or relationships left on the way to make such changes, were so lucid and vulnerable and just true I was left in awe. Édouard Louis is for sure, now, one of the authors I'll read eachtime their new book comes out.

Vraiment très bien. Retour aux sources pour Edouard Louis, l’autobiographie est le genre qui lui va le mieux ou du moins qui me plaît le plus. J’avais moins accroché aux textes sur son père et sa mère, à la fois très politiques et très intimes mais qui m’avaient moins touchée. J’ai été totalement happée, son parcours est fascinant et il partage des choses intimes avec une admirable honnêteté. C’est avec ce livre qu’on en apprend le plus sur lui, notamment par le récit des amitiés et des amours. Je recommande chaudement.
