Was just weird and gross. There’s nothing about it that would make me want to recommend or return to it.

Well, that was disturbing. It's like an episode of Criminal Minds but with only the messed up bad guys. There is literally no good guys in the whole story, and it leaves you thinking about which of the characters was the most messed up. Stalking, obsession, manipulation, sex with a corpse... this had it all.
Narration took me a few chapters to get into but overall worked well with the story.

W E I R D !

a creepy young man who has an unhealthy codependency with women in his life. Clint is easily manipulated by not just his mother but also Stella who prides herself on manipulating hopeless romantics and taking them for everything they have to offer. This unusual relationship of course was doomed from the start as they both are using each other… nonetheless the ending was quiet bizarre and unexpected, didn’t care for how it ended but I guess Clint finally found the woman of his dreams that he thought his mother and Stella were.

Again W E I R D ….. also eww that pelvis wrapped in plastic was disturbing and quite frankly sick.

This was…. Interesting. The first half felt like some kind of grimy fever dream that kept getting more and more bizarre and gross, the second half was closer to a normal-ish(????) thriller.  This book was going for shock factor and it delivered for sure. Did I love it? No, but I didn't hate it. I was expecting a typical stalker/kidnap story and that’s not what this is. It’s some strange mash up of horror and thriller, and not what I was expecting at all. The ending seemed to be open enough to speculate on, but not so open that it left me wishing there were a more closed ending. Definitely an incredibly strange book and I need to go bleach my brain now ❤️❤️

TW: necrophilia, animal death, gore, sexual content, stalking, mental illness, death of a parent, cursing, incest, car accident, gun violence

Clint is a stalker albeit a terrible one. His latest obsession, Stella, works as a barista at the local coffee place. As he follows Stella one night, he is shocked when she turns onto his street and then further surprised when she turns into his driveway.  What Clint doesn't know about Stella is that she is a parasitic person and is only using him until she finds her next mark. When Stella's past comes looking for her, all hell breaks loose and Clint finds the new love of his life.

I figured I'd give this little 49 page novella a quick read. This was a terrible mistake. There are definitely trigger warnings that come along with this story (listed above) so please take those into consideration. Clint was obviously a mentally ill man with one thing on his mind - sex and it didn't matter with who. I have no problem reading gore and disgusting horror stories but I found myself gagging quite a few times. This was not something I would ever consider reading again.

Mommy issues: check.

Gross moments: check.
Con artist biting off more than she can chew *2: check.

Not entirely sure which character I felt bad for… the girl that managed to con her way into several bad positions, or the fool that almost ended up with her.
Themes in this book were numerous, and left me guessing where it was going, and that’s not often. So that alone kept me interested and I was genuinely surprised at Clint’s relationship with his mother…
The author managed to keep several things under wrap, nice little surprises along the way in my opinion.

This quick read was grotesque to say the least, but a damn good one, I mean who can’t get into that?
