I thought there would be more to the plot. Plus I am not a fan of the way it is written for the romantic scenes.

Keira Garrison married young to a man that she thought she knew. The day they were married, things changed for the worse. At a meeting one night, she meets Sovereign, the equivalent to a king in land ownership and business. There was instant chemistry between them. Soon after meeting, her husband passed away and, unbeknownst to her, she was left with a mountain of debt. Sovereign, like the king he is, comes in and saves the day but with stipulations and a contract: her land in exchange for sex (Cue Rihanna’s “S&M” song). Of course, she was reluctant at first. Who wouldn’t be?

I had so many issues with this book, It was 8 hours longer than it needed to be, there was a lack of consent and communication between the characters and the overall story was convoluted. I also had a lot of issues with the writing and grammar. The best part of the book was the narration, it was a pity these narrators had to represent such an unfortunate book.

I guess bdsm isn’t my jam maybe? I loved the crossfire series and enjoyed fifty shades, but this was beyond degrading and gave me the ick. The plot was good, but there were just some things that got on my nerves. Like the painted mare. I get it, it’s cute, but seriously how many times are we going to talk about a toy horse? And he can smell she’s ovulating? Seriously?
