I really don’t know how to rate this… it had the weirdest sex scene I have ever read and it was published 100 years ago… idk how long it’ll be before I’ll be able to eat a hard boiled egg again… like a train wreck you can’t look away from… I guess it gets 4*

HOLY FUCK. I swear I've read half this shit in several Fan Fics that were "fortunate" enough to be featured on Topless Robot's Fan Fic Fridays. Main difference, is that this is better written depraved shit. Batailles is actually quite poetic, and the prose is quite lovely, yet the plot is totally batshit insane and highly disturbing.

How was this even published in 1928? DH Lawrence is fucking Walt Disney compared to this, yet he was censored and banned in several countries. I'm impressed with Batailles.
