Caught Up by Navessa Allen – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
While Lights Out had more laugh-out-loud moments for me, Caught Up still delivers with its dry humor—especially when brought to life in the audiobook. The MMC’s sarcasm really shines in audio, and the spice level? Definitely kicked up a notch.
The chemistry between the leads is chef’s kiss, and the found family trope was done so well.

Liked this one much better than the first in the series! Still had a little issue with the bad guy but not a bad guy type MMC. But overall I really liked the story. It had a totally different feel than the first book and I enjoyed the cameos 🥰

Loved it
While I loved Lights Out (I would protect Josh and Fred with my life), Caught Up gave me the dark romance I was craving from the start. I loved both books, but for very different reasons.
Junior and Lauren are the definition of “it’s always been you.” They’re so hot together, and they’re exactly what the other needs. The way they fight their connection only makes it that much more satisfying when they finally give in.
Junior supporting Lauren in everything she does without trying to change her? Massive green flag. He’s a total teddy bear wrapped in a grizzly’s body. The fact that he’s literally been her #1 fan from the beginning (even in secret) was the exact softness his character needed.
These two go through it in this book. There’s real sh!t and serious growth. Junior’s family dynamic? Complete dumpster fire,b ut watching him, Lauren, Ally, and Josh team up was one of my favorite parts of the whole story.
Again, Lights Out was great, but it leaned more romcom for me. Caught Up is the grittier mafia romance I was hoping for, and now with those teasers for Book 3? I’m so ready for what’s next.
And of course, Teddy Hamilton and Jason June slayed the narration. They brought these characters to life so perfectly—I didn’t want it to end.
