⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Let’s be honest—I would give it more if I could.)

Confession time: I’m new to the dark romance world. Like, still figuring out where the spicy scenes start and the jaw-drops begin 👀. But y’all… Caught Up by Navessa Allen? Baptized me in fire. 🔥

I didn’t read this one—I listened to the audiobook 🎧, and baby, that experience was EVERYTHING. The dual narration pulled me in, but that male narrator? Whew. Sir, who gave you permission to sound like that?! I was locked in. 🫠💀

And listen—Chapter 19 deserves its own warning label.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I had so many “what did he just say?!” and “wait, am I into this now??” moments that I was blushing in public. No regrets. 😅

This book gave me everything I didn’t know I needed in a romance:

💋 All the spice

🖤 A deep, moody storyline

🎭 Just the right sprinkle of banter

For someone new to the genre, it was the perfect introduction. It didn’t overwhelm, but it definitely woke me up 😏

I’m getting the physical book now so I can go back and tab those scenes. Yes, including Chapter 19. For research purposes… obviously. 📚💅🏽

So to Navessa Allen? BRAVO

You absolutely slayed this.

Not as funny as Lights Out, but Lauren and Junior are different people.   Lo and Junior have a complicated relationship..and we get to see how that plays out.  It was nice to hear from Allie and Josh again too.

I read and listened to the audiobook together for an immersive experience. It is not Lights Out but I enjoyed the story, the different character personalities, spice, and  cameos from Aly and Josh. Can not wait for the next book with Tyler

Second in the Into Darkness series, this highly anticipated book exceeded my expectations! While still a dark rom-com, the novel didn't have quite the same tone as Lights Out, mostly because of the difference in the character's personalities. As much as I loved Josh in the first book, I was relieved and appreciative that it didn't feel like a copy & pasted MMC and made for a good separation between the two books. This book was also a lot more explorative in the world of kinks, identities and orientations than its predecessor, creating a very sex positive message. The buildup of sexual tension between Lauren, by far the most confident FMC I've ever read, and Nico, previously sheltered by his rather misogynistic mafia upbringing, blossomed at the perfect rate.

I am very intrigued to see where the final installation of this trilogy goes, with the brief setup of Tyler & Stella’s introduction in the final pages.

I’m not comfortable with mafia darkness. So far, the book was well written, I just was put off by Junior. I hope others find the book enjoyable. It’s just not for me.

Lights Out caught my attention more for the plot than anything else, this time round with Caught Up Navessa definitely wanted her audience to focus more on the kinks and 🌶️🌶️🌶️!! This book is definitely not for the faint hearted!
