I feel like the ending was underwhelming after everything going on in the beginning and middle.

What it did have was a heap of voyeurism and performative/exhibition kink. That was fun in its own right but hits differently. The FMCs unashamed approach to her likes was refreshing, love a girl who's not afraid to ask for what she wants.
Voice actors did a good job. Teddy has a great voice but not much range, his attempt at side character dialogue just made them all sound like idiots.
Overall, if you enjoyed the first book, you'll enjoy this one.

I'm finding putting my feelings about this book into words difficult. I knew not to expect the same of this book as we got from Lights Out. However, I did expect to have more banter, humor, likable characters/ character connection, and plot twists than we received from this book.
Did I hate this book? No. Did I absolutely love it like Lights Out? No. This story had so much potential, and I could see Navessa's vision for this book, which I do respect. It just missed the mark for me, and I am so sad that it wasn't the same calibur for me as Lights Out.
I did enjoy Nico! I loved his character and his devotion to Lauren. He was definitely a man obsessed, and he exhibited true "touch her and die vibes." I feel like he was as expected, and I really enjoyed the few bits of humor he delivered. He can honestly stalk me anytime 🤣. I also enjoyed his mob/mafia storyline and wish we got more of it!
I have to be honest, much of my downfall with this book is Lauren, our fmc. And as some may assume, it was not actually not about her profession, but her overall personality. She was very self-centered. Very "me, me me" and how things benefited her, how they affected her, how they harmed her. I found her to not be considerate or understanding of Nico at all, even after she "forgave" him of his mistakes in their past. Also, the back and forth of her inner dialogue was too much. P.S. I did not enjoy her friends either, especially Taylor.
I did really enjoy the glimpses we got of Josh and Aly! It was nice to have them so included in this book! Also, I do look forward to book 3 and seeing if it can deliver some of the elements missed in this book.
Also, of course, I loved Teddy Hamilton in the narration. He can do no wrong. Jason June and Kasi Hollowell did a good job as well.

“Run, Lauren,” I said, unable to stop myself. “Make it good for both of us.”
