Caught Up was about as dark as I can personally go, and I had a fun time with it.

If you’re looking for as much humor as there was in Lights Out you aren’t going to find it here, though there are still definitely moments of levity and irreverence. This book has a more serious tone, and it carried through the characters, the spice, and the “plot” (it was very loose).

Speaking of the spice… oooh boy was it hot! There was a lot of kink exploration, so if that’s not for you I’d recommend you skip this one.

I’ll probably read the next book from the library as well when it comes out. 3.5 stars

The FMC was frustrating in jumping to conclusions and refusing to allow explanations. I was also expecting more dark comedy like the first book of the trilogy but I still enjoyed the story. Loved the MMC

“Learn from my mistakes. Be a slut while you still can.”

Going through this book thinking it would be like Lights Out was a mistake but I still did enjoy this - enough to have finished it within the day! Ironically, it was my Audible email that reminded me that this book is finally out so yes, I did it read it as soon as I saw that email. It just shows how excited I was to read this knowing that I pre-ordered this one back in December (half a year before the book came out).

I enjoyed it enough that there would be bits and pieces of the books that I would remember in the long run - exhibitionist, for example, since I've learned so much about this through this book. The mafia part of this book for me was a meh. Overall, it's a good book to remind me why I loved Lights Out (lol)

Well that was entertaining for a first mafia romance read. A spice (well seasoned) forward story where the plot took the back seat. Low key wish more happened with that bike. Navessa definitely turned up the spice to level 5 following Lights Out. Though high stakes, the vibe felt more like save the small town bar (club). I enjoyed the ties (hehe) to the first book, the spice & the FMC’s dynamic with her roommates, but I’m not sure I feel as invested in the foreshadowing of what’s to come. But will I read on? Likely.

I loved it so much. It wasn’t as funny as the first but it was still amazing. Plus I adore how are these men obsessed with their women.
