The first book needed to end at the first book. I am not sure if the TikTok demand was high for this book, but I don’t feel like the author wrote a well thought out plot.

Not as good as the first one but a classic smutty Mafia romance nonetheless. I enjoyed it and I didn’t care that her roommate was nonbinary like a lot of other Karen’s on the internet.

Junior is not Josh and therefore it’s just a different vibe, but loved seeing his character get fleshed out.

The pace was good until the end. Then its was a bit fast paced. I love the connection to Lights Out by the same author.

Type of read: Commuter/Daily Read.

What made me pick it up: I had read 'Lights Out' and enjoyed it enough that when 'Caught Up' popped up in the available Spotify books, it seemed like a logical next choice.

Overall rating:
I really enjoyed 'Caught Up.' It's definitely a slightly different vibe than 'Lights Out,' but the worlds come together and everything is cohesive. I'm glad that they aren't so similar because then it doesn't feel like you're reading the same book. I don't think it's anything spectacular, but it was absolutely perfect for what I needed in a book at this time. Easy. A bit smutty. Still some plot. Interweaves with others in the series but isn't reliant on them. Overall, a good read.

Reader's Note:
Trigger warnings (from Google): graphic sexual content, mentions of past abuse (including sexual and domestic), discussions of mental health, and some scenes involving blood and gore. The book also contains themes of stalking, Catholic guilt, kink negotiation, and mafia-related violence.
