I loved it so much. It wasn’t as funny as the first but it was still amazing. Plus I adore how are these men obsessed with their women.

I’m so sorry. I hate to say it. But this book was such a slog. The main characters were boring. Which considering one is in the olive oil mob, and the other is a sex worker seems like it should’ve been impossible. There was some good stuff to work with there! But work it did not.
The most enjoyable part was seeing the MMC from the first book again. He remains incredibly entertaining. But in the end it felt like this could’ve been an e-mail. Very little actually happened, and I’m glad it’s over.

obsessed with the Mafia vibes!
junior and Lauren well well, hello!

one thing I really enjoy about this author is the true research she does on information about topics in her books!

lights out was hilarious and the banter of Josh like woo but this one caught up with the tension between Lauren and Junior, the love that he has had wow just wow!

dark romance for sure! very detailed in many many ways....like wooh

I really liked this book. It’s different characters, different tropes - a second chance romance, different kinks (also the FMC Lo didn’t like the stalking in this book whereas it was a fun kink in the first book), but the vibe - especially the ending was so different from the first book. I enjoyed the humor from the friends but since the first book’s humor came from the MMC I think the second book just needed a little more. I love the sex positivity, loved the church scene (iykyk), I wish there was more impact in the ending because the first half was so good. I loved the audio narrators! Also Lo frustrated me in chapter 29 and I was upset what she blamed Nic for.

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?!
Loved the twist with Tyler and can't wait to hear how tf he ended up where he did by the end of the book...interested to see where things go in the third and last book of the trilogy.

I need the last book right now, Navessa!

This is painful for me to say... but I just wasn't obsessed with this 🙈

Going into this one, I knew it was going to be different than Lights Out, Navessa was very vocal about that the entire time. However, the major difference between this and Lights Out is that this was so much spicier and I feel like it came at a detriment to the couple.

I'm the type of reader who thrives off of an emotional connection; I need to feel the love oozing off the page and I just didn't get that. Junior, yes, he was a man down bad and I wholeheartedly believe he loves Lauren and has for a very long time. Him keeping the journal, keeping tabs on her, and waiting for the right moment to get her back... it was peak boy obsessed. Whereas Lauren's story revolved almost entirely around sex work and introducing Junior to kink. I still don't feel like we understand what made her fall for Junior outside of the physical attraction she felt towards him.

I will say, I loved the roommates and all the Josh & Aly cameos, as well as how respectfully sex work was depicted throughout but overall I just wasn't blown away. It's a fun, spicy listen and there's enough of a tease to get you excited about book three but Lights Out still reigns supreme.
