Junior works for his dad as mob clean up crew and Lauren is a cam girl with a very profitable only fans page.  She is also part owner of a ‘play club’.

Nico and Lauren started dating in high school but when her diary’s got out and people found out about them nico pretended it never happened.  Lauren finds out later that this is only because his dad had threatened to harm Lauren if it was true.

There isn’t LOADS of plot, nico has to threaten the owner of the building the play club for the deed so he can reduce the rent and he quits the mob by having a fairly calm conversation with his dad, which was very anticlimactic.  But the cam girl work was really well handled and the spice was top tier.

I was so excited to have a book about Junior. He really intrigued me from his limited page time in Lights Out. Overall, I would say disappointed is the correct word for this book.
I was bored through most of the book. It really seemed to lack substance until about 250 pages in. To my dismay, both characters were repetitive and one dimensional. I pushed through with the constant hope that it would get better. There was little in the way of dark romance in this book, though the spice was taboo.
There was a scene where Junior is talking to Josh about how he's going to get away from his dad and the mob. They don't tell you the plan but Josh says something along the lines of he wants to be there to see the fall out. Then the big scene happens and it's just him talking to his dad at dinner. It was so lack luster.

The next book is Josh's best friend. I can't even remember his name so that just shows how uninterested I am in reading it. I will not be picking that one up and will probably declutter this one when I need shelf space.
