I really just needed to listen to a page turner/plot driven book. This really did the trick. This wasn’t beautiful writing but I was completely entertained. And hello, it’s a book set in Spain that explores religion and Spanish history and the roll of technology in our lives. What’s not to like?

I’ve always enjoyed Dan Brown’s books. And while I liked this one, it was not my favorite. In the Langdon series of books the female protagonist is mostly just there to tag along and throw in some helpful facts here and there. I felt that especially with Ambra. She was mostly there to show diversity. And then there were the cliffhangers. Don’t get me wrong- I love a good cliffhanger, but there seemed more than usual in this book. I will admit that even as I was trying to figure out the twist for the entire book, I didn’t quite get there in time before it was revealed. Dan Brown can still surprise me. As always a great page turner.

It's rich with information about art and religions I hadn't heared before .. but it didn't answer the main question that I read this novel to know about it ; "where did we come from?" .. and it was expected to know where we are going without this novel , it isn't like other Langdon's novels.

I'm really divided on origin. On one hand I really really enjoyed the book,it was thrilling, intense with a great unexpected twist at the end, and so I couldn't stop reading.
On the other hand my biggest problem with origin is that it's a (Robert Langdon) book. What do you expect when you hear this name? right you expect ancient paintings, buildings, statues filled with puzzles. but with origin non of that exist not even a simple symbol. this book is more (deception point/ digital fortress) than a Robert Langdon book. I really wished Dan Brown used another charterer for this book, it's really disappointing as a Robert langdon book, great Dan Brown book though.

Note:expect the normal Dan Brown series of event:
1-Robert is invited to an event.
2-Murder happen.
3-Robert is chased by dangerous people.
4-Robert is accompanied by a female companion.

I don't mind it, it's just the begging of the story. The main story however is great.

I think this is the Robert Langdon book with the least climatic end. I found that the reveal was not that surprising, and many of the twists I saw coming. It was entertaining, but probably my least favorite of the series.

I am not ashamed to admit I enjoy a good Dan Brown novel and this one didn't let me down.

He crafts a very interesting story and as always my book is full of sticky tabs with places and art work that I have to Google in order to appreciate the vivid places and pieces he paints in his books.

The story is a very good one, several twists and follows the usual Robert Langdon formula. I very much nejoyed it though I did wonder what would fill the last 40 or so pages but the end proved quite conclusive and with some excellent twists. When things are explained you are left thinking, it's so obvious!

Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next installment.

This book was entertaining and surprisingly fast for the length. I guessed the ending, but there's a nice little twist at the end. Interested to read the davinci code and see the development of the charcuterie. Overall the exact kind of book you would want for a book club.
