As a kid, I’d run away to be safe. I’d run away so I wouldn’t have to watch my parents implode.
Now, I was running away to find peace. To find the life I needed deep in my soul. To find myself again.
When Londyn, her mother wasn’t the best at spelling, finds herself divorced, at loose ends, and basically done with her life in the big city, she takes off. Running away comes easy to her, she’s done it pretty much her whole life. After a harrowing start to a journey cross-country to find an old friend, she finds herself stranded in a small town, with a flat tire, and the freedom to breathe again.
I loved this short story of finding oneself via a road trip gone sideways. Brooks & Londyn are explosive together, the small town is gorgeously described, and the side characters are fun. I will definitely get into the next in the series because, to find yourself again is something I think all of us have a little of within ourselves.

I enjoyed this story but I would have liked a little more depth to really get to know the characters more than we did here.
Runaway Road is everything beautiful about small towns, road trips, and finding where you belong. What a fabulous book! Londyn has lived quite the life and only when she lands in Summers does it truly begin. Her story with Brooks is one you won't want to miss. I couldn't put it down!
