No spoilers:
Great book. It’s like if you take the musical Ride of the Cyclone but reverse it and make it darker. I found the book to be really predictable but still enjoyable. At first I found the writing style to be aggravating (you feel guilty about ur twin dying we get it). With how often the author repeated certain points it was like beating a dead horse. We get it! Can we move on? You don’t have to remind us on every page.
Slight spoilers:
It was so close to being wrapped up nicely with great payoff but then BOOM cliff hanger. Criminal. Who knows maybe she could write more since it was published in 2022, but it’s kind of better without it.
Spoilers:
Rip Carter :(( he deserved better. I know Devon did the right thing but man was I rooting for Andrew to get possessed. I wanted to slap so many characters. Mainly Rebecca

This is a quick and fun horror book!
I loved the quick pace and how this was structured into the four hours that the story happens in. I flew (pun intended) through this very quickly!
I found the characters very interesting and loved how complex they got for such a short book.
The consept of a possessed grandma using knitting needles as a murder weapon was quite a fun addition to the start of the book!

wow, what did I just read?
I just saw this book a as a young adult horror book and thought interesting, and when I read the synopsis I was sold, I thought this could be one of the best young adult horror books I have read ever.
and it was good, it all starts with a mystery of the dead of the twin, then they board a plane you know that they can't leave it any time after it is in the air, and than we had a supernatural creature on this flight who kills them all if they do not choose one of them to die. I got creeped out a lot of times, I was shocked what happend, and the ending was very open so that made me feel like there should come more but there is nothing yet confirmed.

This book delivered on everything it advertised and did a great job with the beats it touched on. It’s a fast paced, quick thriller with genuine moments of reflection. There were a handful of moments that literally had the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and I could vividly see it playing out. This book would translates wonderfully to screen for a teen scream movie!
The only reason I’m not rating it higher is that I kinda wish the secrets each person was harboring were bit….more damning. Granted these are normal teenagers doing a lot of things teenagers do that are shitty (cheating, screwing over friends, drinking, etc) but because this books’ premise hinges on secrets I was expecting more. Even if the author kept the secrets what they were it would have been great to see those secrets take up more time and see the repercussions play out more as well.
Also: GIVE ME MORE INFO ON THE CREATURE?! I need the origin of this creature!!!!!
Edit: okay I’m changing my rating and lowering it from 3.5 to 2.75 because….i actually am not a fan of that ending. I wish the author had just left it all wrapped up one chapter earlier because that last chapter made me roll my eyes big time.
CW/TW:
Manslaughter
Bugs/Infestation
Drinking
Death/Mourning/Grief
Slight body horror
