This was hard for me to rate. I feel that this book would best be suited to a physical copy read while sitting outdoors. As I was listening to this on an audiobook while cleaning it didn't really appeal to me. I do think I'll try it again later, when I'm on a vacation.

Maybe the preface sort of turned me off, but I just couldn't get into this book once it started in full.

It is definitely a classic. Not worth reading though. It is so brilliant to hear about today's most pressing environmental disasters and joys—biodiversity (and its loss), biomimicry (and ignoring it), hunting and outdoor recreation (and their critiques), wise-use conservation and game management (and their shortcomings), and the timeless debate of short-sighted and far-sighted action and decision making. This book makes me very passionate about the natural world BUT makes me realize that conservation is not for me.
