I loved seeing the evolution of Big Mav into the man he is in The Hate U Give. The character is really well written and the story is compelling. I feel like the experiences in this book are really important for people to read about and seek to understand more.

Really liked this book. The story is real and also beautiful and painful. I loved the main characters and how well fleshed out they were. A great prequel to The Hate U Give!

Enjoyed this so much as an audiobook! Fantastic performance by Dion. Amazing story written by Angie. Loved getting to know the characters from before the other books.
