The story of one student’s grade 9 year — isolated, difficult at home and at school, with a heavy secret. It shows how small positive shifts can happen, but it can take a long, hard time.

I really enjoy Emily Carroll as an artist, and this was my driving factor for giving this a go. In general, contemporary work usually doesn't stir a lot of emotion in me, but I did find this a good read and I am sure the written novel is excellent.

A quick, interesting comic. I liked the drawings and the story but the end seemed really rushed. She fought him and the lacrosse team heard what happened and then magically she was all better and it could have been spread out more at the end, I would have liked to know more of “IT’s” punishment and how the lacrosse players and the rest of the school reacted, as well as seeing more of what Melinda did after to heal.

This book has always been one of my favorites, the graphic novel just as hauntingly beautiful and heartbreaking. Every highschool freshman should have to read this story.

Oh, this made me cry. I wish there were more words I could say about it right now but what an incredible work.
