I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked the epic nature of the ending. The banter was excellent and the story was very engaging. It felt like reading a Disney movie in the best way. I don’t think YA romance is for me anymore but that’s more about me than the book. I think I would be completely obsessed with this in High School. My main complaints are that the slang and speech used but the characters felt very modern despite the period setting. Secondly I felt I wanted more of the political intrigue than we got. I found it very interesting and it’s integral to the story so I wish there was just a bit more. Overall it was very cute and I would definitely recommend.

I’m going to be brutally honest - this book was a disappointment. I had heard about it online and was so excited to stumble upon it in the library. But it was very painful to get through. I thought this would be a twist on the original story of Guinevere and Arthur, but I was sorely disappointed to find out that these characters only had loose ties to their namesake. In fact, these characters were very dull and I had a hard time getting excited about any of them. Some plot points were obvious
(like the fact that Lord Willard, Lord Delaney, and The Knife were major villains) <\spoiler> ;others were poorly explained or had a missed opportunity to be more significant
(such as the “magic” necklace Arthur receives and Morgana the Crow). <\spoiler>The background about Merlin and the cultists was not incorporated well, so there were large chunks of boring “history.” The resolution was also unclear,
especially in terms of Gwen and Bridget’s relationship. <\spoiler> Overall, this book had a lot of potential but ended up being a struggle to get through.

I preferred the first 3/4 of the book hence the raiting - not so much a fan of the last 100 or so pages though I did find the *very* end sweet

I loved this book so so much!!! The romances were so cute and well written and the plot too!!
The twists and turns this story had?!?!? Also it was so funny xD
A cute queer camelot romcom! xD
Would 100% recommend!

The only thing that threw me of a bit in the beginning was the modern language, because the book plays in medieval times, but I got used to it quickly.

Ah this really hit the spot. Read it in one day and it just solidly delivered what I was hoping for. Easy to read YA, rom-com still covering serious things but with a light touch, well-written characters that aren't one-dimensional, Camelot vibes plus everyone is gay. Iconic. Honestly I was a bit confused by the world-building but that may be on me for having read it so quickly. Anyway, would solidly recommend, especially for anyone wanting an easy pick-me-up or getting back into reading.

I was really looking forward to this book and was let down :( For one, the narrator for Arthur’s chapters was not the most pleasant to listen to. I also couldn’t really discern when this book was supposed to take place in history. I also wasn’t super convinced about the romance between Arthur and Gabriel.

That being said, I LOVED Bridget and Gwendolyn. I honestly would love a whole book just on them. The narrator for Gwen’s chapters was much more captivating and I found myself wanting more Gwen chapters.
