pretenciosamente infumable aunque de todo el libro se salvaban algunas páginas muy intrigantes, bien escritas e incluso entretenidas!

ahora a ver cómo hago yo un trabajo de 2500 palabras sobre esta mierda con perdón

I keep on reading his books hoping to enjoy one as much as I did Atonement, and I keep on finding myself disappointed. This one had some moments, but was much too slow for me. It wasn't just that it took forever for anything to happen (although it did), but that I had trouble finding any interest in the main character's meandering thought processes. If I enjoyed the character more then maybe I would have liked the peek into his head, but as it was I found him fairly dull, and had to force myself to keep picking this up again.

Mooi beschreven kijkje in het hoofd van iemand die zelf schedels openwerkt. Toch miste ik iets - ik ben niet weggeblazen.

3.5 stars. The story wasn’t necessarily enthralling but for some reason I just couldn’t put it down. Most of the book was pretty boring - not much happening aside from him running around town to meet people or run errands. He’d be in one place doing something and then it’s as if the character had a thought and just goes on this random inner tangent about something like his father -in-law’s estate or whatever. It picked up at the last 100 pages or so. Somehow, I feel like I’m missing the big picture or the message here. I kept thinking there’s going to be some crazy reveal in the end- he’s dreaming ! - he made it all up - he’s the one with the super rare brain disorder .. something, anything exciting !

*Sigh.*

Perhaps I’m not as “sophisticated” a reader as I’d like to think lol …
