This one was a lot more moody in tone and set the stage for the next books to come, and oh man did it get me excited! Like, most of the time, especially in fact books like this, exposition dumps feel like they bring the story to an absolute crawl, but this book just kept it going and merged it so well with the rest of it.

One thing I do have to say is the whole trope of Thorn being the secret princess of the land can easily turn out flat, especially since it is in a lot of novels, however, I have hope it will be done here because...

The masterfully crafted story telling is just astounding. Down to even the lighting is incredible,

(Jesus, the whole rain scene was just incredible!!! Like how do you even draw that?!?)

so I really think Jeff will be able to pull it off!

Overall, this book is an easy 5 as it is the best an exposition book like this can get IMO!
