this was amazing. really just so good, it was interesting seeing this written from the perspective of living in oregon. especially in the eugene area, having that constant rape culture was something that needed to be addressed. i think people fail to realize that even in a “leftist” area these cases are still high, this book was something i wish i had found when i was still in high school. it’s got a bit of everything and i loved every moment. there were moments where readers needed big hug but i think ignoring that discomfort almost excuses the behavior of these men.

I literally don't have words. Everyone needs to read this book. Everyone.

Read this and encourage teens to read it, as well, especially young, female-identified folks. Be prepared to have a conversation with them about what rape is, what consent is, and be available to support them with these heavy topics. This book fired me right up and resonated with the teenage girl I haven't been for a very long time.

such good message spread throughout! i never noticed some of the misogynistic behaviors around me and because of this book i see it now!

as for writing and bookish things, the pace was kind of slow and it was kind of building up but instead of there being a climax it kind of just leveled out. i still really enjoyed it and got hooked at some parts (:

I really enjoyed this read. The characters- they felt so real and genuine. It's a troubling topic, but well addressed I thought. Inspiring. Empowering.
