Overall, this was an interesting read. It contained a lot of curious titbits about the brain and its workings. Personally, I did not like the author's sense of humour, and some aspects of the book bothered me a bit. I don't like how they represented the bystander effect, nor the Stanford Prisoners experiment. Both were displayed as being more truthful than those experiments themselves were, and this irked me. The book also has a weird thing that sometimes it oversimplifies things, and excessively explains matters, whereas in other areas it skims over topics without really giving proper explanation or background.
On a side note, I did not enjoy the whole preachy part about how one should and shouldn't think about depressed people, and those that end up losing the fight against depression. Yes, I get your stance. Yes, I agree compassion would better. This part didn't need to be this long.
