Seeing the high ratings this book has, this is clearly an unpopular opinion but oh well. I wanted so badly to love this book, I think that's why I actually finished it, but it just wasn't worth my time.

This book is a smooth ride and not in a good way. Nothing happens in this book that got my heart racing or had me giggling or anything. Literally, the peak of excitement in this book is when Win, the fmc, has to tell Bo, the mmc, that she's pregnant and he's the father. The plot progression was also really slow?? why was I 70% in and Win was only halfway through her pregnancy. Then the author decides to give us a half page about the delivery only to stretch out the epilogue for way longer than I cared to read.

I did not like the fmc. Win is quite frankly irresponsible, childish and emotionally immature and she acts nothing like the 29 year old she's supposed to be. When she and Bo hook up, they had no condoms so she goes 'im on birth control' conveniently forgetting to leave out the fact that she's very inconsistent with taking them!! Why are you, a 29 year old with little income who can barely afford to take care of herself, forgetting to take your bc knowing you want to have consistent sex?!! Okay now she's pregnant, Win's still adamant to accept help from her best friend who's considerably better off than she is (trust me, she says like 10 times in the book how her best friend married a rich man) and its just so stupid and very ungrateful. This is a woman who lives in a shoebox, goes up 6 flights of stairs everyday to get to her apartment, works in a cafe and barely makes enough to support herself and yet she thinks she can take care of a baby all on her own?? She also does the same thing when Bo offers to move her into his home and split costs between both of them and its just so stupid to me??

Win had been in an emotionally and verbally abusive relationship a few years back so I get her apprehension to an extent but when all the problems she's making up in her head and believing are just as a result of her refusal to communicate with Bo, you tend to get a lot frustrated!

Win and Bo find a kinship is their shared limb-shortages. After a one night stand, where she fall’s pregnant, the two learn more about themselves and each other as they prepare to become parents.
