I typically don't read sequels for rom-coms but I decided to give this one a chance and now I regret it.

I was leaning towards giving it a 3 star until I reached the final chapter because what on earth was that? It has to be one of the most disappointing endings I have ever encountered in a book.

I wasn't a big fan of the dynamic between the main characters, even though they had great chemistry in the first book. However, in this one? it just fell flat. There were far too many misunderstandings and a lack of communication that fucked the whole story.

After all that... they just run off into the sunset? wow -_-'

I was expecting them to get married, and yes I do think it is great that they decided to live their lives on their terms, but then the entire hustle and hassle of the impromptu engagement and the fights to just decide lets go back to dating on the day of...

I loved Boyfriend Material, and Luc’s way of telling his story. I was super excited to jump into this one, and I enjoyed it for the most part. Luc and Oliver were just a messy and complicated as ever. I loved watching them navigate their issues as a couple. I enjoyed their banter. It was perfectly timed as ever. I appreciated both of their willingness to listen to each other, apologize when they’d messed up, and forgive each other. Luc supporting Oliver through the tough times he encountered in this one was beautifully written. Oliver being steadfast and unwavering in how he felt for Luc was endearing. The plot was paced perfectly and sucked me in from the beginning. The ending unfortunately felt very abrupt and underwhelming. I can see how it fit their characters and identities, but it wasn’t what I was expecting I suppose.
